Appearing Normal

If we really do hit the Weimar inflation as Jim Sinclair is predicting--doesn't it benefit all of us to ride that wave and make as many FRN as we can...which we will then quickly turn into gold?

I am once again having a late night "man, I need to think about this" moment; all I can do these days is think about how to make more money so I can buy more gold and prepare for the coming shit storm.

All day, all I do is deal with people, things, places, paper (bonds), and then at night I go home and furiously plot and plan my escape and my salvation.

It's actually been especially exhausting this week as we head towards the end of the year and I am now trying to figure out how to crank down the income tax basis, close some deals, and dear Dog in heaven, trying to keep the facade up lest my business associates, neighbors, and friends find out what I am doing at night (planning for an economic crisis/meltdown because heaven forbid they think I am forming a militia and call DHS on me).

Thank Dog I am out of the market completely because at this point, I just dont have the guts to deal with that on top of trying to get these real estate deals wrapped up by EOY.

Strange days.

You will do OK; if nothing else, that is what the guns are for: so if you go down, at least 10 of their minions will clear the way.

Yea, you should make as much as you can, but I'd suggest you put the extra money into hard goods if you haven't already. First get yourself squared away with food, fuel, consumables, etc. Once that's taken car of, and I'd suggest a minimum of a year's supply of everything you normally use in your daily life, then go back to purchasing gold and silver. Just a few minutes ago on another site, I read a news article that says China is having fuel problems that is starting to impact their exports. If the SHTF in the near future, the goods you need may be in short supply faster than any of us may think.

I nearly started a new thread on this, but I'll just stick it here in DF's thread instead :wavey:

I really enjoyed last night's "PNAC Radio" show. They discussed among other things, how "none of us are smart enough to reliably depend upon making money in the coming shit storm". They cast (healthy) doubt upon the "inevitability" of gold going to the moon and taking Au-holders with it on some sort of Au-lifeboat. This all hit home coz frankly, I spend an inordinate amount of mental energy figgering on how things will go down, and how to "be on the right side" of them monetarily/materially. So I needed to hear this alt-perspective. Anyways just listen to it, I don't want to be a spoiler (too friggin lazy!). The commercial breaks are 3+ mins so just advance your MP3 player about that much, to avoid that tedium!

Far more people are on your side than DogFarm may think. They are pretending to be "normal". Perhaps they are far slower to action, but the more I go about, the more I see people openly speak about things taboo only 2 years ago, AND make preparations for it...on the basis of "rainy day" or a curious new interest in hunting equipment.

Don't be too concerned. Pat is correct that we cannot know what will happen accurately, and thus be fully prepared for it. I'm sure Bosnia and Germany were filled with preps that were incorrect, inaccessible, or their secrets lost with their owners. Others walked out their door with a hatbox and survived.

Make sure you're in the latter category. ...And do something moral with yourself, so you can be honest about who you are and what you believe in life. That alone is worth a fortune.

Hey man, if we could get a good tiny little peek into the personal lives of our co-workers, friends, and associates, I think what you were doing would be the least bizarre by a long shot. Remember it's the media that makes folks with a level head and values look like the crazy person!

If your cheating on your wife and riding a scooter around a hotel room slapping a trout against the wall with your coked up male lover, now thats when you want to put on a facade and tell everyone at work the how you thought the "game" went last night. Sorta like when Peter Graves started to talk Baseball with Sefton and the other prisoners in Stalag 17, just to seem "All right". That kind of two-facedness is reserved for the scum of the earth and us usually easily sniffed out.

Just walk tall knowing that you've got it covered. And when folks ask you how good it is, just tell em, "Eh it used to be better, but I think it's still gonna be ok."
